Guest: Bob Borochoff, CEO of Cafe Adobe
Aired: March 25, 2013
Bob Borochoff is a leader in the food and beverage industry. Over the past 25 years, his restaurants, special events, and catering ventures have been called upon by everybody (Bush, Du Pont, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, mayors, etc) to provide outstanding food and beverage for their major events. Bob currently is President and CEO of the Cafe Adobe restaurants in Houston.
His efforts to give back to the industry are extensive. He has served as president of the Greater Houston Restaurant Association twice and he was voted “Restaurateur of the Year” by that organization in 1987. Bob was a Board Member of the Texas Restaurant Association for 19 years and was appointed in 1988 to the National Restaurant Association’s Board of Directors, and currently serves as Director Emeritus. He has been a finalist in the “Entrepreneur of the Year” contest sponsored by Inc. Magazine.
Bob began his hospitality career as a youngster in California but never strayed from his chosen field. When he moved to Houston in 1974, he managed several restaurants for a chain of steak houses. By 1984, he owned more than a dozen successful restaurants, including The Boston Sea Party, Dave’s Food and Beverage in The Woodlands, Ivan’s, The Back Bay, The Cape Club, Jambalaya’s and Cafe Juarez.
Though he has made his mark as a restaurateur, Bob considers himself business and management oriented first and food-oriented second. He founded The Borochoff Group, Inc. to purchase restaurants for investment and growth. In March 2006, The Borochoff Group became a partner in the iconic restaurant chain “Cafe Adobe,” and manages all business operations. Cafe Adobe is a four-unit Houston-based Tex-Mex family restaurant group, with imminent expansion plans.
This is some great stuff!
